Funds donated to South Shore Seahawks Youth Hockey and designated to the Scholarship Fund will be used to support the participation of SSSYH participants that demonstrate a financial need. The amount of assistance, as well as the number of scholarships, will vary based upon the specific needs of the applicants and the level of available funds. Grants for scholarships are on a per season basis, and participation in the program requires applicants to reapply each season. All Scholarships will be applied as credit to the player’s SSSYH account in lieu of cash.

SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA

• In most cases, applicants must have participated for at least one full regular season within the South Shore Seahawks Youth Hockey program
• All applicants must be in good standing with SSSYH
• Applicants must demonstrate financial need
• Applicants that pay money for other hockey teams (“club teams”) are not eligible

APPLICATION PROCESS

• Applicants must submit a confidential scholarship application to the attention of The South Shore Seahawks Youth Hockey Scholarship Fund, PO Box 784, Norwell, MA 02061
• Applicants must provide a written description of why they are applying for a scholarship
• One letter of recommendation must be included with the application
• The Scholarship Committee will review all applications and determine the grants based on eligibility, the amount of available funds, and other factors considered relevant to the committee. The Scholarship Committee will submit their recommendation to the SSSYH Board of Directors for final approval.
• The Scholarship Committee reserves the right to request additional information during the determination process
• All of the applicants’ personal information, including their names and financial information will be kept strictly confidential. Only the Scholarship Committee will review the applications.
• All decisions of the Scholarship Committee and the South Shore Seahawks Board of Directors are final

Please indicate your intention to designate the check to the South Shore Seahawks Youth Hockey Scholarship Fund in the memo field of your check.
