The U8 / Mite Development program is for players (2015 and 2016 DOBs) that are looking to develop their hockey skills but are not quite ready for more experienced / advanced Mite level competition.   There are no tryouts for the U8 / Mite Development program.  To register:  Welcome | 2023-24 Season League Play | South Shore Seahawks (sportngin.com)

• Teams / Games:  Each player will be placed on a Seahawks U8 team that competes in BSHL games.   Games are typically on Sundays at the Bog or Rockland Rink and follow USA Hockey Guidelines (half sheet of full ice with hard dividers, 4v4, small nets, and blue pucks).  BSHL provides leagues referees and timekeepers (Games scheduled by BSHL).  First 4 games for parity to place teams into “Gold” or “Silver” divisions; 20 regular season games with standings; 4 playoff games guaranteed (26 game schedule).
• Season:  September - March (approx. 28 weeks)
• Practice / Skills:   2x times a week, 5:40 p.m. on Tuesday evenings at Hobomock Ice Arena (Pembroke, Rink 2); and Saturday mornings (time TBD) at Pilgrim Arena (Hingham, Rink A)
• Cost:  $1,700 (jersey and socks included)
