Learn to Skate and Play Program

Learn to Skate and Play

Our Learn to Skate and play program is a fantastic way for children ages 3 and up to develop the basic skills needed to build the foundation to enjoy skating. The South Shore Seahawks are members of Learn to Skate USA and follow a standardized curriculum founded in solid and enjoyable skill progression for learning to skate.

The ice will be divided into a learn to skate and learn to play section.  Players can move from learn to skate to learn to play when they are ready even if it is mid session.

Learn to Skate: For beginners, the program requires a parent or adult caregiver to accompany the child on the ice. For more independent advanced skaters, an adult is not required to be on the ice. We will help you assess if your skater is ready.  Players are allowed to use sticks and pucks for a portion of the class if they wish.

Learn to Play: Once players have mastered basic skating skill they may move over to learn to play.  Here students will learn basic hockey skills.

Sessions run for 8 weeks.

Cost: $185 per session

Session 1: September 6 - October 25

Session 2: November 1 - December 20

Session 3: January 3 - February 21

Session 4: February 28 - April 18
