Thrashers Game 6 Recap

Pembroke,MA - Just like the US Postal service - a little rough weather isnt going to stop the Thrashers from delivering. Despite a driving snowstorm the Thrashers team took to the ice a few players down but the team registered an impressive victory over a tough Coastal Star squad. The story of the game was the fantastic positional play of the Thrashers and their defense. Matt Kirslis, Nathan Stetson, Luke Norton and John Joseph played a spectacular all around game. The offense was led by a Henry Johnson who netted an early goal and got them off to a hot start. Drew Commesso chipped in with four goals of his own while Owen Thomas added an impressive hat trick into the mix. Ryan MacDermott was relied on heavily to anchor the defense and also played a great offensive game netting a beautiful wrist shot goal. Will Hoyt made several great saves an earned his first victory in net. Despite with playing only 9 players the Thrashers played with great sportsmanship and effort. "This group of players are working hard and getting better every week - they are dedicated and have a ton of fun" said Coach. As further proof of their dedication and love for the game - despite the snowstorm outside the ENTIRE team stayed after the game and attended the skill session that followed their game. "I have no idea how the kids convinced all the parents to stay for another hour but they did it!".

After the thrilling victory -Coach Commesso attempted to skate with a skate guard still on - and the result was a loud cheer from the parents as he hit the ice. "I took names of the parents that were laughing - I saw Dave Norton laughing way too hard and the Hoyt family really enjoyed my on ice yard sale....I did it on purpose for the kids" said the Coach.

The Thrashers look to continuing their winning ways with an upcoming 3 on 3 tournament in Norwood on December 30th and 31st!

Tickets are sold out.
